Downunder Kayaking

Day and weekend staff are needed May through October 8th (Columbus Day) 2007.  Applicants should be H.S. seniors and up, ideally with cash register experience.

Applications for the 2008 season are being considered through April. 

Downunder staff are different - they'd probably work for free, because it's such a fun place!  We're really easy going - yet incredibly proficient at our jobs. 

Staff receive a lot of training and we encourage additional professional instruction for kayaking assistants and guides. as well as First Aid and CPR.  At Downunder, we take pride in being the most professional kayaking operation in the region - our staff play a huge part in that.

There are dock staff and store staff, both of which interchange.  One minute you might be taking a rental reservation, the next you could be outfitting them and teaching the basics before loading them into their kayaks and off on their journey!  Or you could be meeting and greeting people in the store, sharing information, selling, merchandizing and making sure the place looks fabulous. 

Then there are the professional staff - guides and instructors. 

Our season is from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, sometimes weekends earlier in May.  The business has been growing exponentially, and so we're looking for all kinds of help - marketing, administrative, sales.  Mostly though, good strong professional and responsible staff.
